Zakopane

Zakopane is a place where you can forget about the urban noise and enjoy the beauty of a mountain scenery.

The mountains at whose foot Zakopane is located are called the Tatras.

The city is approx. 100 km away from Krakow, which means only a two-hour drive by car.

Upon arrival, everyone can see that Zakopane is full of spectacular mountain views, highlander culture, folk art and traditional dishes of this Polish region.

In the summer, the place is visited by thousands of tourists, as it provides countless opportunities for hiking, trekking and climbing in its stunning surroundings.

Our company suggests tours comprising visits at the Great Krokiew ski jump, Krupowki Boulevard, Gubałówka Hill or a trip to the Eye of the Sea – the largest mountain lake.

Zakopane is called the winter capital of Poland, because of the excellent opportunities it offers to winter sport lovers. The city has the famous Great Krowiew ski jump, at which every year World Cup ski jumping contests take place. It is the largest ski jump in Poland. Zakopane mountainous areas are literally littered with numerous ski slopes.

Walking down Krupówki Boulevard is like walking down Florianska Street in Krakow. It is the most famous street in Zakopane. Full of bustle, vibrant with life, emitting seductive aromas of traditional highlander food and drink. Once we leave it, we reach a kind of an open-air market, where various items and products from the Podhale region are sold, and then to the bottom station of a funicular taking people to the summit of Gubałówka.

The Hill of Gubałówka is another place worth recommending in Zakopane. It is located at an altitude of 1,126 metres above sea level. From its top, one can marvel at one of the most beautiful panoramas over the Tatra Mountains.

The Eye of the Sea, in turn, is the most well-known and considered to be the most beautiful mountain lake in Poland. It is situated in the High Tatras, at 1,395 m above sea level. Peaks over 2,000 meters high, surrounding the lake, create a beautiful scenery. The great asset of the place is its very easy access for everyone. The Eye of the Sea can be reached by walking along a 9 kilometre, broad, scenic route. Instead of going on foot, one can use a typical highlander horse-and-buggy set.
